After months of additional research and writing, I am thrilled to announce that the book will be published in March 2022. It is smaller than the first book but is in a similar format so the two will look good on a bookshelf together.
This book should appeal to a wider audience as there is an entire chapter on tennis in Victoria in the 1930s. It was surprising how much coverage of amateur sport was evident in that time frame.
I really enjoyed reading Dutvhy’s hand-written notes on different aspects of his career and I think I got to know him even better.
The discovery of a recording sent from Dutchy while he was in Alaskan waters was a real treat. I have had the record digitized and am in the process of obtaining permission to post it. In the meantime, I am transcribing what he said (assuming I can hear all the words over the noise of a ship in foul weather) and will post it here soon.
I should have copies of the paperback edition by the end of the month. I am also publishing through Amazon and hope to have those links up soon.
